We have worked hard to achieve the requirements of the ISO 14001 environmental management system and are pleased to have secured this important standard, which is audited annually. Liftec encourages the reduction of energy consumption and minimisation of waste by always recycling paper and materials that can be.
When commissioning sub-contractors and suppliers we look to them to adopt our philosophy of environmental stewardships and help us to promote best practice within our industry.
Liftec is very proud of our strong company image and is happy to support local initiatives and co-operate with local groups wherever possible.
Corporate Social Responsibility Projects
Liftec has recently made a large investment to reduce its internal paper usage. Through evaluating its onsite data capture processes and developing procedures, along with using the latest telecommunication and data transfer technologies, the business is now able to electronically capture service histories, breakdowns and repairs of its customers’ equipment without the completion of duplicate Activity Report Forms. The introduction of providing PDA’s to our service team has not only benefited the business from the reduction of paper usage but made savings in printing costs, seen increased productivity and real time service data resulting in improved customer service levels.
The company has recently reviewed its Company Vehicle Policy and agreed in specifying vehicle makes and models to ensure a phased integration of more carbon neutral vehicles resulting in reduced CO2 emissions.
Liftec has partnered up with a new office supply enterprise who, together with the business, will re-evaluate usage of our recyclable stationary items. We will continue to develop our recycling awareness and waste management through purchasing environmentally friendly products. Our new partner has a track record of ethical purchasing and is concerned with its carbon footprint whilst sourcing it products and has recently been accredited with Carbon Smart. As a Carbon Smart member they will be able to provide Liftec with certification of its increased reduction in waste and recycling habits. We believe this initiative, and reviewing our suppliers on regular basis, leads to our continued development in applying better environmental practices.
