Lift Modernisation and Maintenance
NORTHWICK PARK HOSPITAL
Liftec has a long-standing relationships with some of the NHS’s Primary Care Hospitals and Trusts. In 2012 through our success in the healthcare sector, we were asked to tender for the full modernisation of 17 of the hospitals 39 lifts, along with some minor H&S upgrades on a further 18 lifts.
Over time, there had been previous modernisations undertaken on the 35 lifts, covering various lift technologies and systems.
In almost all cases, the work on the 17 lifts under full modernisation included new machine room equipment, controllers, new entrances, lift cars and safety gears.
With such a large-scale modernisation project being undertaken in a fully operational and busy Hospital, great care had to be taken with planning to avoid passenger disruption during the programme. To ensure this occurred, we worked closely with the Trust’s Project Manager to schedule work and avoid floor-to-floor passenger movement becoming a problem.
Our extensive planning, preparatory work and communication with the Trust ensured the project was completed on time, to budget and the modernised lifts are now faster, more energy efficient and designed to meet the busy needs of the Hospital.
At time of the modernisation Liftec was awarded the contract to maintain the 35 lifts that we had either modernised or upgraded.
