Lift Maintenance

THE NATIONAL GALLERY

The National Gallery, which is located in the heart of Trafalgar Square, is one of the most visited art museums in the world. This 195-year-old art Museum houses over 2,300 paintings dating from the 13th century to the early 20th century.

CBRE, the preferred Property Management Consultants, have assisted the Gallery with management of their mechanical and electrical maintenance services since 2002.

Following on from several meetings with CBRE, in 2013, Liftec was awarded for the contract to maintain the Gallery’s 18 essential passenger lifts that operate from the ground floor. With the high volume of passenger traffic using the Gallery’s lifts, it’s important to ensure safety, reliability and full compliance with regulatory standards. This was a key factor in choosing Liftec as the lift service provider.

Liftec has routinely and competitively re-tendered, and subsequently been re-awarded the maintenance contract for the Gallery’s essential passenger lifts since 2013.

Liftec provides a standby service to ensure our engineers are able to quickly attend any emergency breakdowns or service call that arise. Due to the average number of visits to the Gallery totalling up to 420,000 each month, this is essential.
