Project Description

Lift Maintenance

AIRBUS BROUGHTON

Airbus is a Renowned European Aerospace manufacturer which operates from multiple sites in the EU including the historic aircraft manufacturing plant at Broughton, Flintshire. The plant dates back to 1939 and over its life has been responsible for the production of some of the UK’s best-known aircraft including the Wellington, Lancaster and Comet.

Liftec was awarded the maintenance portfolio for 68 units in 2016. This was after meetings with CBRE the appointed Property Management Consultants for Airbus and a successful tender result.

There is a wide range of lifts installed at the Broughton facility.

Airbus Broughton covers a 24 hour workflow as manufacturing is undertaken during shifts. Some of the specialised heavy duty goods lifts have to be available at all times to assist with stock movement as part of the production process. Liftec is to maintain the plant’s lifts under a fully Comprehensive contract that provides service call-out response times of no greater than four hours, and one hour in the event of entrapment to provide the service levels required by Airbus.

Liftec engineers have all undergone site-specific inductions and specialised training along with a range of security clearances. Liftec’s personnel have vast experience of working within many locations with high profile security processes.

Liftec has provided CBRE with a detailed status report, survey and projection of costs to address Airbus’s needs for safety and reliability as many of the aged goods lifts, whilst still working safely, require some level of modernisation.
