Camden Better Homes is a Camden Council operated programme that aims to improve homes, schools and community facilities across the Borough.
In 2016, Liftec was awarded the contract for the modernisation and replacement of 31 low rise residential lifts for Camden Better Homes.
The contract required Liftec to employ a dedicated Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) exclusively for Camden Better Homes. Liftec has extensive experience through working regularly in Residential Buildings. We understand the importance of ensuring that Residents remain happy. Liftec’s dedicated RLO is the Resident’s first point of contact who is responsible for dealing with all Resident related matters, assisting with vulnerable occupants, demonstrating how to operate stair lifts, helping with navigating around the building and maintaining Resident satisfaction.
During the project, Liftec had to overcome issues with manoeuvring the required equipment into the building. We worked with our preferred approved crane contractors to safely lift the heavy controller equipment needed into the building.
Due to the shaft construction, Liftec’s Construction engineers had to remove some of the walls surrounding the lift in order to facilitate the installation of new parts. The equipment included; control panels, lift doors and door equipment.
Liftec believes that keeping disruption to a minimum is of the utmost importance. We worked efficiently to ensure that the modernisation was completed on time and within budget.
The Liftec Construction team are pleased to report that all of the lifts that have been handed over to the Client have received positive feedback from both the Client and Residents.
